Medical Illustration: Journal of Experimental Medicine
I have been creating cover art for the Journal of Experimental Medicine since 2007. These collages illustrate interactions in the microscopic world of the body.
In 2018 I have been asked to create 12 covers for the Lancet Haematology, based in England. Each month features a small collage illustrating a concept or experiment featured on one of the journals articles.
Although the source materials and inspiration for these images is different from other collage series, I feel that the conflicts inherent in our biological landscapes is often similar to the kind of conflicts and relationships I am interested in from other series. The movement of cells, the charging of antibodies and ions, are just as dramatic and full of character as a Bosch or Hiroshige image.
