Bio

Rachel Urkowitz has exhibited her work in solo and group shows at museums, galleries and film festivals in the US and Europe. She was awarded an Artists at Giverny Fellowship and Residency from the Rockefeller Foundation/Art Production Fund in 2001, a 9/11 Artists Emergency Residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute in 2002, and in 2007 was an artist in residence at La Generale, an artist-run collective in Paris, France. She has had solo shows at White Columns, Michael Steinberg Fine Art, NY and Galerie Michel Neff, Frankfurt. She is currently working with De Chiara Projects. 

Urkowitz received a BA in Fine Art from Brown University and an MFA in Painting from Hunter College. She is an Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design. She lives in New York with her husband and two sons.
